Attention Parents of a 6th Grader
Please be advised that the State of New Jersey has issued new requirements regarding immunizations for all students entering 6th grade in September of 2008. These requirements are as follows:
1. One dose of Tdap(Tetanus, Diphteria and acellular Pertussis).
2. One dose of Meningococcal containing vaccine.
Your child will not be allowed to begin school in September of 2008 without meeting these requirements. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Hager at 783-2994 ext. 814.
Attention Parents of Pre-School Students
All students are now required by the State of New Jersey to have the following new immunization:
1. One dose of PVC(pneumococcal conjugate vaccine) by the start of school in September of 2008.
2. One dose of the flue vaccine given between September 1st and December 31st. This will be in effect beginning in September of 2008.

Mission
The Mission of the Magnolia School District, in partnership with the community and staff, is to provide a safe and supportive environment which offers all students the opportunity to develop academically, socially, physically, and emotionally and to create confident, productive, life-long learners.
Information regarding the school includes:
Magnolia Public School, located in Magnolia, New Jersey, is a one school district with approximately 475 students in grades pre-kindergarten through eight. The school offers a well-rounded curriculum including mathematics, science, language arts, social studies, physical education, art, music, instrumental music, world language, library science and computer science, basic skills remedial services and a special education program, including gifted and talented. Magnolia School is available for community use after school hours. . Computers and Internet access are available in both classroom and the Media Center.
In addition to academics, the school offers programs that give students an opportunity to take part in a variety of extracurricular activities, such as art, band, choir and glee club, newspaper, safety patrol, student council, yearbook, young investigators, National Junior Honor Society, basketball, and baseball.
Magnolia School has approximately 75 staff members including administrators, teachers, nurse, aides, secretarial staff, cafeteria staff, custodial staff and an active PTO who are the "backbone" of our school and provide a wide range of services and opportunities to our students. We have a nine member elected school board committed to the school improvement process, especially the instructional program. Magnolia is one of four sending districts to Sterling Regional High School. As a team, we remain committed to the work of identifying areas of need and aligning our academic activities with the core standards.
